Carioca Chile (the “App”) is an iOS card-game app developed by Pascal Peltriaux. This policy explains what data the App handles and how. The short version: no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no trackers.
The following is stored locally in the App's sandbox on your device:
If you are signed into iCloud on your device and the “iCloud sync” toggle is on (it is by default), this data is also mirrored to Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store so it stays consistent across your other Apple devices using the same Apple ID. The data is stored in your personal iCloud account managed by Apple — Carioca's developer does not receive, see, or store it, and it is not transmitted to any third party. You can disable iCloud sync at any time from the in-game ⋯ menu; doing so leaves your existing iCloud copy in place so re-enabling later restores it.
Deleting the App from your device deletes the local copy. Resetting
statistics from the in-app stats screen also clears the iCloud copy.
To wipe all iCloud-stored data for the App without using the in-app
controls, sign out of iCloud on your device or remove the App's
iCloud data from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage
Account Storage.
The App integrates with Apple Game Center to record progress against a shared leaderboard, unlock achievements, and let you see your opponents' profile photos in multiplayer. Game Center is opt-in at the iOS level: if you are not signed into Game Center, none of the features below activate.
GKLocalPlayer.authenticate API.
Apple returns your Game Center display name and player ID,
which the App uses to identify you in multiplayer rooms and to
send achievement / score reports.GKLocalPlayer.loadPhoto to
fetch it. In solo games the photo is only used inside your own
device session. In multiplayer it is base64-encoded and
published as part of the room data on Firebase so the other
players in the room see your photo on their opponent chip.
The photo is removed when the room expires (see the “What gets
sent when you play online” section below).reportAchievement and
reportScore on Apple's servers so unlocks + best
scores appear on Game Center. The data flow here is entirely
within Apple's services and is governed by
Apple's privacy
policy; we do not see, store, or transmit it anywhere
else.
To opt out of any of the above, sign out of Game Center on your
device (Settings → Game Center → Sign Out) or remove
your photo from Game Center. Removing the App also stops all
further reports to Apple.
Online multiplayer uses Google Firebase Realtime Database. When you create or join a room, the following data is sent to Firebase and shared with the other players in that room:
This information is used solely to keep the multiplayer game in sync between the devices in the room and is deleted automatically when the room is abandoned (rooms inactive for more than 24 hours are pruned by an automated cleanup job).
The App relies on two third-party platforms:
We do not use any other third-party services — no analytics, no ad networks, no crash reporting beyond Apple's built-in opt-in diagnostics.
The App is rated 4+ and intended to be safe for children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The display name a child enters for multiplayer can be any nickname — we encourage children and their parents to choose a name that doesn't reveal real identity.
Because we don't store any personal account data, there is nothing to request, correct, or delete on a server. If you want to wipe all local data, delete the App from your device. If you want a multiplayer room deleted before the 24-hour cleanup, contact us at the email below.
If this policy ever changes materially, the new version will be posted at this URL with an updated date at the top, and called out in the App's release notes for the version that introduces the change.
